Thank You’s

I would like to say thank you to everyone who had something to do with this trip.  From my Nana’s friend who sold me the car, to my parents, who although would have wanted me to go with someone else, were supportive of the idea.  Also to my friends from all over the world who loved the idea of me doing this.

Another big shout out to everyone on couchsurfing.org who I put a request into and answered it and put me up for however many days I needed.  I am eternally grateful for all the new friends I made on the road through this site.  I can’t wait to see some of you again somewhere down the line and have adventures again!

A quick shout out to the 2 families that are friends with my mom who put me up as well.  Both were wonderful hosts and I stayed an extra day with each.  I really hope I can see them again down the road.

It was great seeing people I worked with while I was in China as well.  The fact that I lived and worked in China for 2 years and made really close friends that I can drop in on every now and then is such a great thing.  I was so happy to see them again, I’ve missed them a bunch after having seen them all the time for 2 straight years and then all of a sudden not.

Finally a thank you to everyone who followed here on this blog. Whether you started from the beginning or joined on as I continued on the journey  it was nice to see my photos being liked by people.  This is not the end of updates (I still have to get my lomography 35mm photos developed), but updates will be slow from now on.  I do have another blog, which is right here (http://boneydiego.tumblr.com/) and new blogs will be created as well.  Hope you follow those too.  One more wrap up coming, but I thought that Thank You’s should be it’s own post.

This is what I accomplished on this trip.  Overall I have seen 37 states (Florida, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, and Connecticut have been seen before).  Next time I hope to finish the continental USA

Some other crazy numbers from the trip

I traveled 10923 miles all over this great country.

I gassed up on 42 different occasions, using 446.573 gallons of gas

I went through parts of 9 rolls of film on my Lomography camera, and 36 GB of memory on my digital camera.

I saw 31 separate states, and 2 countries.

I stayed with 14 different people through the site couchsurfing.org (which was awesome).  I also stayed in 6 different houses of people I had worked with in Shanghai, China, or their families. I stayed with 2 families who are friends with my mom.  Finally, I only paid for accommodations twice (Yellowstone and Flagstaff).

I bought 32 45s and 18 33s (these are records for those who do not know).

I was on the road from Sept 27, 2012 through November 30th, 2012 for a total of 64 days.
